With reference to the working of the Hong Kong Wireless Station, I beg to draw your attention to the following.
On accepting your Master Service Message for Agents, at 5.45 A.M.GMT. 31st September, I proceeded to call Hong Kong (VPS) and although within normal range could obtain no response.
At 7.30.a.m. GMT. I received signal QRX (stand bi) 4.P.M. Hong Kong Time, also received by MSH and YOW. At 8.23 A.M. GHT. no call from VPS, and again proceeded to call him, but without
result.
On several occasions I received a signal "K" (proceed with work) but on sending same received no response or even an advice "being interferred with".
Times message sent: 11.30 A.M. 19.52 A.M. and 3.20 P.M. ·
At 8.25.7.M. VPS gave "Wait 5.p.m. "H..Time", and at
9.25.A.M. message received when only about 60 miles distance.
On each occasion message sent 4 or 5 times.
During periods mentioned above, the "Tunda" who was within
sight calling with 4 messages, and stations also calling VPS
for me, ingchor Borneo Haru, etc.
The power of this station at the time was good, With
current and E.M.F. registered at the time I have had ranges of
900 and 1,000 miles, frequently, and even higher on special
occasions.

station in conjunction with ss. "Tanda" and surrounding stations.
